A pioneering story
When it opened, Albergue Vía de la Plata was presented as the first hostel in Spain managed by a person with an intellectual disability. That experience demonstrated in practice that, with the right support, people can take on responsibilities, provide high-quality services and participate actively in the economic and social life of their community.
What drives this project
Supported employment
Real job opportunities in an environment that values people’s abilities and provides the support they need.
Autonomy and responsibility
Everyday work encourages decision-making, learning and personal development.
An inclusive community
Pilgrims, groups and professionals share spaces and experiences founded on respect and diversity.
Staying here also makes you part of the project
Every stay helps sustain a professional service and create employment for people with disabilities.
